  • Who is LifeCourseOnline for?
    LifeCourseOnline was designed to help people with supported living needs and their caregivers, but it can be used by people of any age and ability. For more information on the benefits of LCO, see our pages on the LCO Platform and the LCO Program.
  • How do I know my information is safe in LifeCourseOnline?
    LifeCourseOnline is PIPEDA and HIPAA compliant. We take various security measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, accidental loss, destruction and damage. LifeCourseOnline uses standard, industry-wide security practices such as encryption, firewalls and SSL (Security Socket Layers), and physical safeguards at the locations where data is stored.   • Do I need to download software to use it?
    No. LifeCourseOnline is a web application, meaning it is hosted entirely on a web server, and you can use it anywhere you have an internet connection. It is optional to download and use LifeCourseOnline mobile apps. Available for both iOS and Android.
  • What is the difference between the platform and the program?
    Platform The platform is the virtual dashboard where you can collaborate with paid and natural supports. On the dashboard, you can explore and problem-solve using interactive Charting the LifeCourse-inspired planning tools. This is also where you can find the action tools and invite friends and family to engage with their plan and coordinate day-to-day care. Program The LifeCourseOnline Program is a guided experience in personal exploration and community building. Participants work with planning experts to define their good life, design a person-centered plan, and discover what it takes to make that plan a reality. The planning experts are trained on the LifeCourseOnline Platform to help you use get the most from it. Reach out to our support team at, and ask about a program near you.
  • I received an invitation to join someone's team on LifeCourseOnline. What does this mean?
    If you're invited to join someone's team on LifeCourseOnline, it means they value your support in helping them live their Good Life - a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life. Being a team member comes at no extra cost. Contact the person who invited you to learn more about your role.   • How do I cancel my subscription?
    To cancel your LifeCourseOnline subscription, please fill out a support ticket here:, and a member of our team would be happy to assist you through the process.
  • How do I sign up?
    When becoming a member of LifeCourseOnline, you can sign up as part of an organization by entering your organization code or signing up as an individual.   • Should I sign up as an Individual or Account Manager?
    When signing up for LifeCourseOnline, you will be asked to sign up as an Individual or an Account Manager. Please note that the choice you make here cannot be changed later. Account Manager means creating and managing a LifeCourseOnline account on behalf of someone you support. Individual means that you are creating and managing a LifeCourseOnline account on your behalf. For example, if you are the parent or caregiver of someone using LifeCourseOnline, you would select Account Manager. If you are the person creating a LifeCourseOnline account for your use, you will select Individual.
  • Who can be invited to use LCO?
    You can invite both natural and paid supports to use LifeCourseOnline. However, it is up to you, or the individual you’re supporting, to choose what information access permissions these supports have. Visit our article on Team Member Permission Levels to learn more about managing access.
  • Should I add a team member as an Account Manager or User?
    Choosing to add a team member as an Account Manager or User depends on what information you would like that person to have access to. Note that Account Managers have full access to all parts of your LifeCourseOnline (LCO) account – nothing can be hidden from them - meaning they have access to all goals, events, documents, and other potentially confidential information stored in LCO. Users have access to all places and can add goals and events and even contribute to the plan resources (support stars, decision-making tool, vision tool, etc.). Still, they will only have access to the goals and events they are tagged to support or those they create themselves and can only see documents they have directly uploaded. To protect the person using LCO, there are more restrictions on what information is shown at the User level—in case there are goals, events, or documents that the rest of the team does not need access to for privacy reasons.   • Where will I receive notifications from LifeCourseOnline?
    Notifications from LifeCourseOnline can be seen in the desktop app and in your email. Don’t forget to add to your safe sender list. Push notifications for mobile apps are currently not available.
  • Can LifeCourseOnline be integrated with other software?
    Yes! LCO can complement other tools your organization is already using. You can schedule a meeting with our support team to discuss possible API integrations: Book here.
  • In Ontario, is LifeCourseOnline Passport eligible?
    Yes! We can help you get set up with LCO as a Passport eligible expense. You can book a 1:1 meeting with our support team for more information: Learn more here.
  • Do agency staff need to pay for licenses?
    Licenses are not required for agency staff but rather for each person who is supported.
  • How do I support multiple people through one login?
    To support multiple individuals through one login, please use the Setup New Profile button on the top right-hand side of your Homepage screen — the first screen you see when logging into LifeCourseOnline. Once you have created more than one profile, you can select which profile to go into from the Homepage.
